EVEN GENE SIMMONS WAS BLOWN AWAY BY MY WORK!!!!

I was one of the kids that was never satisfied with watching monster movies or reading comic books. I was the guy that wanted to "be" those characters. At an early age, Gene Simmons became my Superman, Batman and Spiderman all rolled into one. I remember trying to build those early costumes with cardboard, aluminum foil and duct tape. I nearly wound up in the hospital many times walking around with stacked 2X4's taped to my shoes. When KISS mounted the reunion tour in 1996, the magic was back. I wanted my very own "authentic" looking Gene costume and I was willing to pay to have it. I met a number of characters along the way. Some of them good and many bad ones. I have been cheated, lied to and most of the times never quite satisfied with the product.

I met Barry Carr on that journey. I had often read his claims of "I am the best," "second to none costumes," "no one can top this." Saying Barry is cocky would be putting it mildly. The thing that impressed me about him was his honest love for all things KISS. He knew his subject. He wasn't just walking the walk. I have owned several sets of Gene Simmons costume armor over the past decade. I have never been so impressed and amazed at the product Barry turned out. I knew as soon as I opened the box that I had finally stumbled upon something incredible. It was like looking at Gene's 1976 Destroyer armor in my own home. The attention to details, the spikes, the rivets and most importantly the killer paint job is second to none. He has the right to brag...because NOTHING comes close to this! If you "serious" about getting an authentic KISS costume, the search is over. I recently went backstage to the KISS show in Cleveland and had Gene Simmons autograph one of the arms from Barry's armor. Not only was Gene impressed but so was Spiro, who used to play Gene in a tribute band and is now working for KISS. Spiro kept asking me if that really was Gene's armor. I was so impressed with the armor that I hired Barry to rework my Destroyer boots. I'll let you know how that one goes. In the meantime, I can't say enough about my armor. Finally, I found what I was looking for and definitely worth the price!

The costume you made is awesome! Simply put, you are the best! It is off the chain! When I was looking for costuming for our production, I did my research and found Barry. Being a KISS fan since 1976, and was intrigued by Gene’s costumes. I am an ordained minister and have written a stage production in which I play the devil. I asked Barry if he could do the type of look I was wanting. He said yes! Together we came up with a unique look for me combining Destroyer, Love Gun, and Creatures of the Night.

It looks awesome and I am sure it will turn heads. Every time I look at all the pieces, I am amazed at the detail and quality workmanship. Barry took the time to listen and even made some suggestions to make me aware of some things so I would look my absolute best. So if you are looking, kicking the tires or window shopping, you need to stop looking and buy the best, not some cheap knock off, but the real deal. You will look as good if not better than the band themselves. If you are worried how it will fit you, don’t Barry is very specific on your measurements. My boots fit perfect and they conform to the bend in my leg not someone else’s. The belt, bodysuit and armor fits perfect as well. Again made for me, not some generic, one size fits most, but to my size.

Trust me you will not be disappointed I have made a life long friend in Barry and I am very grateful for his support.

When i decided to invest in a Destroyer Gene costume, I researched and talked to many tribute bands, and the same name kept coming up, Barry Carr. I said before, this is an investment. Barry is a stickler for creating the most accurate costumes and this is no exception. Barry takes the time to talk to you, gets your information, and makes the costume to your specs... this is not an off the rack costume!!

The armour, belt, boots and leggings ARE the REAL DEAL!!

I just attended the 2nd largest parade in Indiana in July 2009, and the crowd ERUPTED when they saw me as Gene... the Demon had arrived! Women went nuts... the television announcers went crazy, and i was nearly rushed at one point. I would recommend and will purchase from Barry Carr again!! His knowledge and expirience are 2nd to NO ONE! This is his profession... not like others who build costumes part time and make crap and steal your money!!

The boots are off the chain, they are the best ones you have done to date! I cannot wait until the armor is ready. I have been walking around in them and amazingly they are comfortable and fit perfect! They are sheer perfection in every way; they fit better than my cowboy boots!

Simply put, you are the best. If anyone is thinking about it, Barry is the man to work with, he is upfront, honest, and he does not force his opinion on you, but takes time to listen to what you need. He will guide you step by step through the process and make sure you look your absolute best.

Every detail was taken into consideration, you will not be disappointed. Barry even gave me detailed instructions on how to walk in them which is a big help. It just goes to show that he will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy in every way possible.

Even though I am not Barry’s only customer, he treats me (and he will you) as if I were and you will have a friend in him. If you have researched and done your homework you have found cheaply made and sloppy expensive costumes, don’t be fooled you won’t get what you paid for with your hard earned money with the other guys. He has come through in a big way for me and he will for you too! If you are a KISS collector or you want to wear the “real deal” you need to call this man. In Barry you get the Bang for the Buck!
